Is multisite a solution for having multiple language urls?

Hi,

The organization I’m doing the website for (twiceuponatime.ca) serves English and French customers. When I make the website bilingual they want to avoid having urls which are in English with a fr. in front or a /fr behind (e.g. they want iletaitdeuxfois.ca/qui-sommes-nous instead of fr.onceuponatime/who-we-are). They have already purchased the English and French domain names for our group (twiceuponatime.ca and iletaitdeuxfois.ca). If we want to use these for the French/English versions of the site does that mean it will be multisite?

I should mention that I’m new to ww.wp.xz.cn and I’m finding it a big change from WordPress.com.
