Is the plugins page optimizable?

    Hey Jeff,

    I have created a rule for the plugins.php page but it looks like it’s ignoring it. I can understand why, but it would be great if we could list the plugins “visually” as active/inactive while being able to optimize the page load time.

    This particular page can take sometime 30 seconds to display and the plugins are often activated/deactivated on staging environment.

    Is it a bug on our side or is the plugin working this way?

    There is functionality within wordpress that will permanently disable a plugin if it is disabled on that page. It is by design that I don’t allow it.

    Ok understood.

    There’s no hack out there on the world wide web that would allow some sort of behavior as described?

    Any ways to cache the page to make it display faster? 30 seconds can be a lot of waiting when you need to go 4-5 times to that page in a short delay.

    You can use a caching plugin to cache your plugins page but that is outside of what this plugin does. The plugins page acts as a fail safe in case something goes wrong with your settings. You can always go there and plugin organizer will not apply anything. So if you get a blank page when you go to your admin because you disabled the wrong plugin or put them in the wrong order you can go directly to the plugins page and disable plugin organizer. It happens. I’ve even done it.
