I was directed by the live chat support from GTranslate to direct my question here…
I would like more information about what cookies are utilized and necessary for GTranslate to function on a website.
For context, we are using CookieYes as our cookie consent plugin and the free version GTranslate. Currently we’ve disabled the CookieYes plugin, because if we turn it on and the user denies all cookies, the translation function breaks. It looks like Functional cookies need to be accepted in order for the translation to work.
I understand that the free version uses Google cookies – so is the paid version something else? Would getting the paid version solve the issue that a user can reject all cookies and still translate the site?
Thanks.
