# Issue after updating W3 Total Cache to version 2.9.3

 * Hello,
 * I updated W3 Total Cache today to the latest version (2.9.3).
 * After the update, the website became “broken”/misconfigured. I temporarily disabled
   the plugin, and the website returned to normal. I also performed some tests by
   enabling and disabling it, and the issue appears to be directly related to the
   plugin.
 * Could you please advise what might be causing this issue?

 * I want to also verify that after updating my website to 2.9.3, my checkout was
   not functional. Traced this to javascript loading issues in the backend. Payment
   methods were not loading, and many other js files were not loading. Reverting
   to 2.9.2 corrected the issue.

   it will ask to replace newer version, accept and all works again

 * I reinstalled version 2.9.2, everything is working normally. I’ll wait for the
   next update (2.9.4) since the last one caused problems.

 * If I’m reverting back to 2.9.2, can I just overwrite 2.9.3 with the files from
   2.9.2 (referenced above)?
 * I want to ensure that I’m following proper protocol to go back to the previous
   release.
 * I’m not sure if the latest release may have made updates to the .htaccess or 
   any other external files from the plugin.

   I followed
   these steps:– Deactivate the W3TC in WordPress– Go to /wp-content/plugins/ and
   delete w3-total-cache folder– Upload the extracted 2.9.2 folder to /wp-content/
   plugins/– Activate W3TC in WordPress

 * In my experience this bug broke the Rollback plugin as well so I had to download
   the “w3-total-cache.2.9.2.zip” and just use the upload plugin / replace method.
 * It also had broken the Elementor Editor and running Yoast’s Start SEO data optimization
   tool.
