 * I just bought my domain name and I installed WP through my ISP’s control panel.
I then came on WP to create my WP site. The instructions tell me to locate the
wp-config-sample.php I supposedly downloaded on my web server. Not there… so
I clicked on this link to download a version: [http://core.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/3.0.1/wp-config-sample.php](http://core.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/3.0.1/wp-config-sample.php)
 * I completed the instructions step by step on this page ([http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php](http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php))
until it discussed editing site URL, blog URL and everything below that. Hmm,
the sample file I downloaded doesn’t have any of that code in there.
 * Is there another sample file I’m supposed to download from somewhere else?
 * After that I have absolutely no clue where to save the final wp-config.php file
   on my web server….
 * Thanks for helping me out. I’m used to WP.com but this is a whole different beast
and I can’t wait to be past the install part and start creating the site.

 * It sounds like you got off on the wrong track.

 * If your hosting provider had a one-click installer, everything should be setup
already and you should have received an email with WordPress login details. The`
wp-config.php` file (since it’s installed the `-sample` is not part of the file
name) should be in the same directory as the `wp-load.php` file. Either way,
there should be no need to download it individually from the development trac.
You can get any file you need by just [downloading WordPress](http://wordpress.org/download/)
   again.

 * That guide covers advanced settings that not everyone will need. All you need
   to worry about is `DB_NAME`, `DB_USER`, `DB_PASSWORD`, and `DB_HOST`.
 * Since I’m not sure where it went wrong, you might want to start over, but follow
   this guide to install WordPress:
