I have been stuck on version 2.56 because, since 2.57, Sydney has added extra white space at the the top of the page. There’s so much white space that I originally thought the page was blank. I have tried several other versions, including 2.63, but they all behave the same since version 2.57. I have seen this issue on multiple platforms: Chrome (Windows), Chrome (Android) and Edge (Windows).

The site is still currently running on 2.56.

Any thoughts on what changed and how to resolve the issue.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

  • Hey @breganasher,

    Thanks for writing to us!

We haven’t received reports of this issue before, and we would like to investigate it further.

I attempted to replicate the issue on my local install with v2.63 and was unable to do so. Here’s a quick screencast for your reference. You can also check out our Changelog for more information.

If possible, could you set up a staging site, activate the latest version, and share the URL with us? This will allow us to inspect the page and provide more tailored advice.

    Thanks.

Thank you so much for the quick reply! I’m happy to help you isolate the problem.

As requested, I set up a separate duplicate site and upgraded it to Sydney 2.63. The url of this new site is https://debug.breganasher.com/. The original site at https://breganasher.com/ is still running 2.56 and can be used for comparison.

Let me know if there is any other information I can provide that will help.

    Hi @breganasher,

Thanks for setting up the test site!

It looks like the test site has a div element with a height of 516px for a hero slider, according to this inspection, which is not present on the original site: screenshot.

To clarify, there have been no code changes in version 2.57+ that affect the rendering of the Sydney hero area, as seen in this comparison.

Could you please provide screenshots of the settings under Customize > Hero Area > Hero Type and Hero Media for both of your sites so we can review and advise further?

    Thanks.

Thank you so much for working on this issue!

I have taken the screenshots you requested but, from what I see, they look identical …
