• Hi,

We installed the iTheme Security on our website Digital Marketing Training – http://www.digital-marketing-training-mumbai.com/.

There are muiltple issues we are facing when we turn on the Hide Login Admin option:

Issue 1) When we log out of the site, instead of the log out page being displayed, a 404 error page is being displayed. This 404 error page is also broken. See http://www.digital-marketing-training-mumbai.com/issues/diagram1.png

If we check the “Enable theme compatibility” option ON, the login out page still displays a 404 page but its formatting is not broken.

NOTE: This happens with the Default WP Twenty Fifteen theme also, which points to an issue with the plugin.

Issue 2) When logging into WP-Admin with the new login URL (Hide Login Admin option is turned on), instead of the WP Admin Dashboard being displayed, one is redirected to the website Front Page. We do not understand why it is being redirected to the front page?

Issue 3) When a user comments on our website, an Email is sent to admin saying to approve the comment. In that Email, instead of the new WP-Admin login URL, the default WP-Admin URL is being displayed. See http://www.digital-marketing-training-mumbai.com/issues/diagram2.png

Any help with these issue will be appreciated.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Meher Bala

  • Issue 1. Not sure what is going wrong. Make sure the Log Out link looks like this:

    http://www.digital-marketing-training-mumbai.com/wplogin?action=logout&_wpnonce=2763ac0be4

Where wplogin is the new login slug as specified in the iTSec plugin Hide Backend feature.
The Hide Backend feature does work with the default Twenty Fifteen theme …
So it might be a plugin or theme conflict …

Issue 2. This may be caused by the Away Mode feature. If it is enabled, disable it and see what happens.

Issue 3. I think the links in that email should use the wp-admin slug since it’s a link AFTER login.
The links assume you are already logged into WP Dashboard. Try it and you will see.

When you are not yet logged in and you click on one of those links WP will return a 404 page.
