# Issue with Plugin

 * WP: 5.4.1
    Essentials: 4.0.0
 * My client’s website was experiencing an issue this morning, and this sounds like
   it’s the web hosts fault, however at 9:50am the website went down with the below
   error message.
 * `Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function current_time() in /home/
   mydomain.com.au/htdocs/wp-includes/functions.php:2416 Stack trace: #0 /home/mydomain.
   com.au/htdocs/wp-includes/functions.php(2275): _wp_upload_dir() #1 /home/mydomain.
   com.au/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/essential-addons-for-elementor-lite/essential_adons_elementor.
   php(30): wp_upload_dir() #2 /home/mydomain.com.au/htdocs/wp-settings.php(365):
   include_once('/home/mydomain...') #3 /home/mydomain.com.au/htdocs/wp-config.php(
   89): require_once('/home/mydomain...') #4 /home/mydomain.com.au/htdocs/wp-load.
   php(37): require_once('/home/mydomain...') #5 /home/mydomain.com.au/htdocs/wp-
   blog-header.php(13): require_once('/home/mydomain...') #6 /home/mydomain.com.
   au/htdocs/index.php(22): require('/home/mydomain...') #7 {main} thrown in /home/
   mydomain.com.au/htdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2416`
 * After 5 minutes it was back up and running perfectly fine (I had tried reuploading
   files during downtime and it still wasn’t working). Does this appear to be something
   on the hosts end?

 * Doubt its the host’s fault.
 * It looks like an error with WordPress or Essential Addons. The function `current_time()`
   appears to be the issue. As it is not defined. According to the error you posted.
 * Did you or the client add some sort of timestamp or clock into the header recently?
 * Best bet as far as I can tell would be to remove the function that was added.
 * Daily backups are good practice for random stuff like this.
 * Please refer to the lines in your error message. functions.php:2416 & functions.
   php:2275
 * I’ve been having my fair share of issues recently with EA plugin myself.

 * [@satoru8](https://wordpress.org/support/users/satoru8/) thanks for your reply.
 * Nah my client’s site hasn’t been touched in quite some time – only plugin updates
   such as Essentials Addon etc. I was worried it could’ve been the hosting company,
   as it’s weird for it to break for 5 mins and then work again randomly with 0
   interaction from me.
 * I too have had some issues with some Elementor addons ever since the exploit
   was found in the main plugin but the site is secure and safe from edited files.

 * No problem. Sorry, I couldn’t be any more help.
 * In any case you may still want to check the lines referred to in the error message.
   Make a backup & try purging caches. Or even reinstalling WP/EA. Plugin updates
   can go wrong for many reasons. These errors can be tricky sometimes especially
   if nothing else had been touched.
 * The other day I had a random error when trying to change themes. The site went
   down for around 5-10 mins then came back, but was acting weird. Reverted daily
   backup and was fine again. Changed my theme and it worked. Normally I write code
   myself but with such nice tools like Elementor I was hoping to save a lot of
   time.

 * That’s rather strange actually. I don’t think it’s related to our plugin actually
   because if it was I am pretty sure we would have got lots of complaints about
   this. But regardless, I would recommend you to contact your hosting provider,
   delete Essential Addons from your FTP Server and manually install it again.
 * Then, you can check back and let me know how it goes.
 * Thank you!

 * I tried from home and it worked – not sure why as I even tried incognito at work.
   Will debug further see what’s going on 🙂
 * Thanks anyway guys.
