 * Hello,
 * Unfortunately the plugin is unusable on PHP 7.
 * Trying to add a new event leads to this error:
    `Fatal error: Allowed memory
   size of 805306368 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 858993459392 bytes) in /
   home/fpvnatio/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 298` Also breaks
   the ability to add new WP posts or forums (bbpress).
 * Disabling the plugin makes everything work fine again.
 * I’m interested in the pro version, unfortunately I will have to wait until this
   works on my site.

 * The [https://wordpress.org/plugins/php-compatibility-checker/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/php-compatibility-checker/)
   PHP Compatibility Checker plugin lets you scan your site plugins for PHP 7 compatibility
   and reports errors or warnings as well as report PHP 7 compatibility.
 * Unfortunately, for The Events Calendar plugin the scan reported:
 * The plugin/theme was skipped as it was too large to scan before the server killed
   the process.

 * Hi [@candrom](https://wordpress.org/support/users/candrom/),
 * Thanks for reaching out, and I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having trouble
   with The Events Calendar on your site! We’ve tested all of our plugins for PHP
   7 compatibility and haven’t encountered any issues comparable to what’s indicated
   here. More likely, this is simply an error occurring due to a low memory ceiling
   on your site’s server! You may be able to increase this limit yourself to allocate
   more memory to PHP or WordPress, although some shared hosting plans may require
   you to contact your server administrator. WooCommerce provides [a helpful guide](https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/increasing-the-wordpress-memory-limit/)
   summarizing your options–I’d suggest trying the steps outlined to see if you’re
   able to get things running smoothly! 🙂
 * I hope that helps to get you started! Thanks again, and let us know if you should
   have any other questions!

 * I’m also experiencing a problem under PHP 7 and have [raised a new support topic](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/fatal-memory-error-under-php-7/).
 * It seems fairly clear this is a PHP 7 issue, at least in my case:
 * – disabling the plugin fixes the crash under PHP 7
    – downgrading to PHP 5.6
   fixes the crash with the plugin enabled – the system is trying to allocate 2.5
   terabytes of memory, and no host would be reasonably expected to allocate that
 * No need to reply to me here. I just wanted to link the two topics in case other
   people find this one and are having PHP 7 problems.

 * Thanks. I posted a detailed reply to that post and it appeared. Then I made a
   small edit and it disappeared. Now I’m unable to make any reply to that post.
 * Maybe I’m confused about post-editing mechanics in this forum. Are you able to
   see the diagnostics I gave in the other post?

 * Never mind, I see my post now. I guess it just disappeared temporarily while
   the edit was processing.
