# Javascript suddenly doesn't appear to be loading?

 * I’m not sure what changed on our sever but suddenly the expand shortcodes are
   not converting/displaying/whatever. At first I thought maybe shortcodes weren’t
   working on my theme but checking the console, it doesn’t look like the js file
   is loading? I’ve tried turning off plugins, tried manually loading the js file,
   and switched the load location from header to footer and back again.

 * do you have “only load js script when shortcoded is used” checked in the plugin
   options?
    are you using a caching plugin that needs to be cleared?

 * I tried the “only load…” Option both ways to no avail. As for the caching, I 
   don’t have any installed from within WordPress but I’ll check with our IS dept
   in the morning to see if they’ve got any running at the server level.

 * For some reason the .js file is not loading. We would like to take a closer look

 * This was a strange issue indeed. The issue was resolved by simply re-typing each
   of the expand opening `[expand]` shortcodes. Maybe the original shortcodes were
   inserted via copy/paste and some strange character formatting was included in
   the past.
 * So, as a future note, if you are getting strange formatting with your shortcodes,
   be sure you are working in the Text (not Visual) mode of the editor and hand 
   type at least the first code…
