 * My current configuration WP
    – WordPress Version: 4.1 – Theme used: OneEngine–
   Plugins up: Akismet, Contact Form 7, Cyclone Slider 2 Edge Suite – Name of the
   hoster: Localhost ———————————————————————————————————————————— Hello,
 * I am creating a website, and I work preprod (localhost) with UwAmp and WAMP server.

   I try to activate JetPack, but I have the error:
 * Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. In most
   cases, this means that something is not configured correctly on your webhost.

   Failed to connect to jetpack.wordpress.com port 443: Connection refused
 * I’ve done some manipulation that I found in here and there to solve this problem:
   –
   I disabled all extensions. – I disabled all extensions by putting the theme defaults“
   twentyten”. – I tried the plugin “Core Control” as shown in the [link](http://avisdupublic.net/critique/divers/tuto/solution-probleme-erreur-activation-plugin-jetpack-wordpress/)
 * But without success, still the same problem.
 * I do not know if this is because I work on a local server or it’s something else.

   Knowing that for another site that I created I had the same problem while working
   on an ATSPACE free host.
 * Thank you in advance for your help.

 * It’s because you are working on a local server, yes.
 * When Jetpack detects you are working on a local server, it goes into Development
   Mode:

 * … and you’ll see a warning, like this:
