Jetpack Communication Problems Other Errors
-
Before I start, I’d like everyone to know that my WordPress account has two blogs: one is at http://erikadjesus.wordpress.com (my original blog that I imported content from), which used to redirect to the URL of my now self-hosted site (the URL was a paid upgrade but I pointed the name server to Bluehost); the other is at http://erikadejesus.com, the self-hosted one that I have Jetpack installed on now, which used to be on a temporary URL with Bluehost (the temporary URL still appears on the dropdown list of “Select the blog you need help with:” on WordPress.com support forums for some reason). I’m not sure if that information is any help, but it might be of use.
Anyway, I noticed a bunch of things that are wrong with my Jetpack connection…
(1) The “Refresh Status” shows “Status Unknown” on the Jetpack site debugger page.
(2) The follow and follow comments button supposedly showing on the comment box aren’t showing up even though I set them to do so.
(3) The “like post” button would always appear as “loading,” but never load at all.
(4) When I try to create the embeddable WordPress.com follow button using my self-hosted Jetpack-enabled site, it would set the button to my old WordPress.com site.
(5) When I add it to the WordPress app for iPhone, the site icon doesn’t appear and the apostrophe in the site title appears as a code
(6) On the “My Sites” page of WordPress.com, my self-hosted site appears with a site icon on and an actual apostrophe in the site title, but it shows a notice that says “Jetpack Problem.” I was able to migrate my WordPress.com subscribers to my self-hosted blog through that page, though, despite the notice of a problem.…but I think these are all probably related to the connection error the Jetpack site debugger is displaying (there might even be more errors that I haven’t found yet). Here’s the long and detailed error report:
SELF: Array ( [headers] => Array ( [server] => nginx [date] => Wed, 12 Nov 2014 04:50:08 GMT [content-type] => text/plain;charset=utf-8 [connection] => close [x-pingback] => https://jetpack.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php [expires] => Wed, 11 Jan 1984 05:00:00 GMT [cache-control] => no-cache, must-revalidate, max-age=60 [pragma] => no-cache [x-hacker] => Jetpack Test ) [body] => {"error":"Unknown Error","error_description":"An unknown error has occurred."} [response] => Array ( [code] => 400 [message] => Bad Request ) [cookies] => Array ( ) [filename] => )I've tried all the tips on the Jetpack troubleshooting page, and none of them were the solution to my problem. Please help!
