# Jetpack Update Causes Site Slowdown and Post Editing Freeze

 * I am currently using Jetpack version 14.7 and Jetpack Boost 4.5.1. For several
   months now, every new Jetpack update (the latest being 15.2) has caused significant
   site slowdown and a complete freeze when trying to edit any post.
 * Once entering edit mode, the page becomes unresponsive, and it is impossible 
   to save changes. This happens on all types of posts, whether old posts I am editing
   or new empty posts.
 * The issue resolves immediately when Jetpack is uninstalled.
 * I have followed the official guide to reconnect and reinstall Jetpack, including
   disconnecting and reconnecting my account, uninstalling and reinstalling the

 * Currently, the only workaround is to stay locked on version 14.7 or to uninstall
   Jetpack entirely.

   for the detailed report.
 * Taking a look at your setup, the first general advice I have is for you to increase
   your memory limit. Since you are using Elementor, WooCommerce _and _Jetpack, 
   [OceanWP’s documentation recommends that you have a memory limit of at least 768M](https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/652-oceanwp-and-ocean-extensions-requirements).
 * Also, it looks like you’re using (or have used at one point in the past) several
   different performance plugins with overlapping functionality. When optimizing
   a WordPress site, sometimes less is more, as different optimizations can _cause_
   conflicts and slowdowns. These are the ones I’m able to see from our end:
    - LiteSpeed Cache
    - W3 Total Cache
    - Autoptimize
    - Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster
    - Async JavaScript
 * I think OceanWP also has some of its own performance-related settings, as does
   Elementor. All together, these features manage caching, CSS/JS minification (
   or deferment) which can directly clash with Jetpack Boost’s page cache, critical
   CSS, and JavaScript deferral modules. Only one advanced caching/optimization 
   plugin should be active at a time to avoid conflicts.
 * I know this doesn’t directly address the fact that older versions of Jetpack 
   don’t cause the issues for you, but both are important to rule out before we 
   do any Jetpack-specific troubleshooting. Please increase your memory limit and
   decrease the number of performance-optimizing features on your site, and let 
   us know if you still experience trouble with the recent Jetpack release. 🙂
