 * Hello Frank,
 * on the page I use Autoptimize Version 3.1.3 and WP 6.0.2.
 * It is not possible for me to include jQuery in the footer. In the past, this
   always worked without any problems. I also tried with your Async plugin, but
   that causes problems with both methods: defer and async.
 * Here are the settings for Autoptimize: [https://imgur.com/a/0tPBy7g](https://imgur.com/a/0tPBy7g)
 * I also use critical[dot]com for the critical CSS defined under the corresponding
   tab and per page.

 * For starters maybe disable the “try/catch wrapping” option and then check the
   browser console for JavaScript errors.
 * But I would advice to disable “aggregate JS” and instead use “don’t aggregate
   but defer” + “also defer inline JS” (which are the newer default settings and
   which make more sense in a HTTP/2 context), maybe give that a try as well?

 * This makes sense. Checked it and now it works also for jQuery in combo with your
   Async plugin and set jQuery also to defer.
 * Thanks Frank!
