 * Like so many before, the latest update has caused the analytics portion to stop
working. Getting the “Data Error in Analytics – The response is not a valid JSON
   response” error.
 * Starting my own topic as that is always requested. Here is what I have tried
   already.
    - Logging in on chrome (as well as 4 other browsers/OSes) incognito. Error persists.
    - Security plugins: Ithemes, cloudflare (both disabled, problem persists)
       I
am getting console errors, have screen shots. Will add to the form after this
      posts.
    - Have done the site health and troubleshooting plug in. Interestingly, problem
persists until all plugins have been enabled, then analytics shows fine.
    - Disabling site health the analytics remains active and working until I close
the session and start a new one. Will also post info on form after this topic
      posts.
 * To note, I haven’t added any new plug ins, have been running sitekit for a long
while now with no issues. The last major update made the analytics go haywire.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fjson-error-with-analytics%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Many thanks for not just opening an individual support topic but providing details
of all troubleshooting steps undertaking so far. As you’re using iThemes can
you share the setting you have for “_iThemes Security -> System Tweaks -> Filter
   long URL strings_”
 * If you have this enabled please disable, before then checking your Analytics
dashboards once more from a browser incognito window. I know you’ve already checked
disabling this plugin although there may be addition caching impacting reporting.

 * Do you mean the problem persists until all plugins are disabled (other than Site
Kit?)? If so we can troubleshooting with plugins should your iThemes configuration
   not provide any additional insights.
 * Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

 * Thank you for the reply. System Tweaks Filter Long URLS was enabled. I have disabled
it and checked in incognito and analytics seems to be working fine.
 * > Do you mean the problem persists until all plugins are disabled (other than
   > Site Kit?)?
 * No. When first doing trouble shooting, the problem persisted with only sitekit
enabled. I went through enabling one by one as a test and once all 11 plugins
were active once more, the analytics appeared working (both normal window and
incognito). Once I closed browsers and ended the sessions, the problem returned.
 * After a few tests and closed sessions it seems the long URLs was the issue. I’ll
keep it off for now. Thanks.

 * Great to hear it, thanks for providing an update. Interesting in relation to
the issue occurring with just Site Kit active. The only thing I can guess would
be browser caching or some .htaccess rules applied by some of your plugins that
may have resulted in the same notice.
 * Note that we’re also investigating any actions we can apply on our side where
possible to ensure this iThemes configuration doesn’t impact reporting.
 * If you happen to run into any additional notices be sure to get in touch. And
as it sounds like you’ve been using Site Kit for some time now feel free to [share your thoughts](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/google-site-kit/reviews/#new-post)
on the plugin so far, we’d love to hear your feedback.

 * That would be great news.

 * No problem. One of our team did reach out to iThemes and they’ve stated that
they’ll be removing this feature in their next major release (8.0 / v7.0 for
pro), expected at some stage in early April.
