    Hi,

I keep getting a critical error with the message:” Updating is globally disabled. Contact us for more help. Tell us about the following error: AUTOMATIC_UPDATER_DISABLED”

I am using the latest version 3.3.1. This error pops up everywhere on the sites that I work on and sometimes even shows up on the frontend, which forces me to deactivate it, Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi,

It shouldn’t popup on the frontend, so I’m not sure why that’s happening but alright..
To fix this issue please go to your wp-config file and remove the line that says AUTOMATIC_UPDATER_DISABLED.

The line didn’t really popup, it was more like text just appearing on the site: https://imgur.com/a/LEaIz73

But it seems to have helped, thanks! it’s a bit weird that some of my WordPress installations don’t have that line, but as long as it works I’m happy.

It’s a line that was added on older installs but that’s been removed later. Glad it works again.
