 * Like others my site refused to install the latest update and I got a fatal error
   message, so the plugin is no longer functional.
 * After much digging around I’ve learned “the new update relies on your PHP version
   >= 5.3.x”. My server is running a 5.2.x version.
 * I’ve just downloaded an earlier version of the plugin, but before I delete the
   old folder I need to know if by doing this – will I lose the active subscriptions?
   Or is that data stored elsewhere and those subscriptions will be active again
   once I reinstall the older version of the plugin.
 * Thanks!!

 * Hello [@lindafar](https://wordpress.org/support/users/lindafar/),
 * By deleting you files on the plugins folder does not delete your subscriptions,
   just make sure to deactivate the plugin and then delete it.
 * This is the latest version that can work on your site:
 * [https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/subscribe-to-comments-reloaded.150611.zip](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/subscribe-to-comments-reloaded.150611.zip)
 * After upload the files you can activate.

 * Thank you, that is the version I’ve downloaded.
 * I’ve deactivated the plugin by FTP renaming the folder – should I also delete
   that renamed folder BEFORE uploading the above zip file?
 * Appreciate your time and help!

 * Yes, you can delete that rename folder and just leave the other one.
 * If you are concerned about your subscriptions, the only way to delete them is
   by deleting the plugin in the WordPress plugins area.
