Language select using menu custom links and flags broken

    We use custom menu links for language selection. All worked fine until recently. Clicking on a language entry now generates a javascript error due to an undefined value for the ‘event’ variable. The same issue exists for flag icons. The only method that continues to work is to use the plugin generated language switcher.

    The language switcher is disabled, google toolbar and branding are disabled. I have disabled caching and tried reverting to early versions of GLT (currently on 6.0.18, tried 6.0.16, 6.0.15, 6.0.14) and none worked although this issue arose within the past 4-6 weeks.

    The site uses the Elementor Pro page builder.

    Please advise the best course of action to restore functionality.
