 * Trying to do a download for a free EP. We have a zip file that’s 46MB. Any other
way to add it other than by uploading?
 * Don’t mind hacking the database if that’s the only short term solution.

 * There are a few options that can increase the maximum upload size. These are
   listed at [http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Working_with_WordPress#How_do_I_Import_a_WordPress_WXR_file_when_it_says_it_is_too_large_to_import.3F](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Working_with_WordPress#How_do_I_Import_a_WordPress_WXR_file_when_it_says_it_is_too_large_to_import.3F)

 * in other words there’s no way to add large files other than uploading?
 * suggestion then would be to add a text field to allow putting in direct links
   to files.

 * There may be a solution using redirects, but I don’t use or know anything the
plugin, so I’ll have to duck out of this topic. Maybe the plugin author will
see this later & add some thoughts.

 * Just to make sure I understand correctly, you are trying to get around the upload
file size limitation? If that is correct, what you can do is create a download,
attach a small zip file, give it the name that you want etc and upload it.
 * Then ftp into your site, go to the wp-content folder, then to uploads, then to
doifd_downloads. Look for the small file you just uploaded.
 * Now rename the actual file that you want to use to the name that is in the doifd_downloads
directory, then upload the file into the directory overwriting the dummy file
   that is in there.
 * That should do the trick for you.

 * GENIUS!!
 * It was staring me right in the face. Thanks Andy!
 * (Suggest you add this suggestion to your instructions as I’m sure it will help
   others… 🙂
