# Last Updated Without Plugin

 * Is there a way to add last updated timestamp on posts and pages instead of original
   publishing date – without using a plugin. I checked a lot of threads and they
   all reference plugins. I would also like the last updated timestamp be shown 
   in the SERPs. Thanks for any help!

 * Well, I don’t think that’s recommended because when you upgrade version, you 
   will overwrite any changes made to core files.

 * Thanks will check this out. I guess if I use a child theme, then the code won’t
   be erased with each update.
