 * Hi All,
 * I’m pretty new here and wanted to really learn how WordPress works (the basics
   and such) – Is there any good books you could recommend or even video tutorials?
 * I’m learning PHP at the moment, so I’m getting used to it and I’m pretty familiar
   or should I say comfortable with HTML and CSS. If anyone could help me out with
   learning WordPress it would be much appreciated!
 * Thanks in advance
 * Raphael

 * [WordPress for Dummies](http://www.google.com/search?q=wordpress+for+dummies)
   might work, but the [New to WordPress](http://codex.wordpress.org/New_To_WordPress_-_Where_to_Start)
   article in Codex will also get you into trouble 😉

 * You can learn a lot just by trying it, and then, when you have a SPECIFIC question,
   search on Google for it. There are answers in places like:
 * Here, this forum
 * The Codex documentation links (helpful to search google for your question plus
   the word “Codex”)
 * WordPress Weekly Podcast, and WP Community Podcast
    [http://www.jeffro2pt0.com/wordpress-weekly](http://www.jeffro2pt0.com/wordpress-weekly)
 * [http://wp-community.org/](http://wp-community.org/)
 * Searching Google for “wordpress tutorial” and whatever area you’re interested
   in.
 * The problem with books is, they are usually written on an out-dated version of
   WP. And they can’t fit all question-answers in a book, they have to guess what
   your needs are.
 * Many many more good (and free) answer links,
