 * I would like to open images in a lightbox / fancybox / thickbox and obtain the
same result as on the site [http://www.autre-chemin.be/fleurs-de-montagne/index.php#mini-photos](http://www.autre-chemin.be/fleurs-de-montagne/index.php#mini-photos)

That is, the lightbox must have a fixed width (but responsive), larger than the
image, and that the title and a description must be displayed to the right of
the image and not below (at least on a computer).
 * It will certainly be necessary to work on the CSS, but on which lightbox plugin
is it better to be based (compatible with NextGen), and how to achieve this result?
 * Thank you in advance for your answers.

 * Altering the default layout with CSS alone should be feasible as long as all
the HTML elements are in place. So any *box image app should work with the custom
CSS that you would add. Is the previous/next navigation element something you
also need? Not all *box apps have such navigation.
 * What does NextGen do on its own? Perhaps its default effect can be modified with
CSS. Add whatever CSS is needed to the Additional CSS customizer section. Such
CSS normally overrides other equivalent rules, except for element style attributes.
If there are element styles, they’d have to be modified at the source.

 * I need the previous/next navigation element, as text, or as arrows.
    But this
element must be outside the image, and it is important that the lightbox does
not automatically resize according to the dimensions of the image.

 * AFAIK all *box galleries automatically resize images based on available display
device size. It is the displayed size that changes, not the source file’s size.
 * Provided the chosen gallery app outputs all the necessary HTML elements, you
can likely arrange them as you like with custom CSS. Other gallery plugins are
unlikely to be compatible with NextGen, they would work independently on their
   own.
 * You might try asking for suggestions through the dedicated support channel for
NextGen. They’d know better than anyone if there is something that is compatible.
 * There are a good number of other gallery plugins. Any one that outputs next/previous
links would be a good candidate to try out.
