 * I’m looking for some tips and suggestions about how to “reduce unused javascript
or css,” including the java resulting from Google fonts, recaptcha and tags.
 * I understand that the server, the theme, and the plugins I choose can contribute
to this issue, and that I need to use a caching plugin like Litespeed or W3 Total
   Cache.
 * But if I’ve done all of the following – chosen optimized themes and plugins,
reduced the number of plugins, improved my server settings, and installed and
configured a caching plugin – and Lighthouse still says reduce the javascript
and css, what other steps can I take?
 * With different caching plugins, when I minify, combine, and delay the javascript
or choose similar options for css, I find it negatively impacts the display of
my site. Is there a plugin or tool that allows for optimizing java and css with
minimal impact on the site? Or is there something else I can do or try?

 * Could you share a link to website, so we can check it out for ourselves?
 * If your score is 90+, and green over different areas, you shouldn’t chase perfection–
it doesn’t make that much difference.
 * The only thing besides code minification and cache, is to actually remove unused
code – but only if you know what you’re doing!

 * I’m just asking in general, not about one website in particular.
 * I agree about not chasing perfection, but the scores for my websites aren’t 90
+ and I often see that it’s the unused code that increases the lag or decreases
   the score.
 * Yes, I don’t know how to remove the unused code myself, but are there any plugins
or methods that can make that step easy for those of us aren’t expert developers?

 * Unfortunately no, it’s still not possible to automate that process, but there
is a plugin that at least solves one part of the issues you mentioned – [https://wordpress.org/plugins/debloat/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/debloat/)

 * Thanks for the suggestion – I’ll check it out.
