The plugin now dumps a boat load of CSS <style> code in the page <head>. Is there a way to reduce and/or place all this in a css file?

Hi,

Please enable: Dashboard > Events > Settings > Advanced > Link CSS in <head> section when file cache is unavailable option, it should help.
