 * Here’s why I can’t use this plugin due to its limited functionality:
 * 1. Yahoo Hosting (not my choice; choice of client’s previous developer) forces
   WordPress to be installed in a subdirectory — for example, mydomain.com/blog.
 * 2. I wanted to use this plugin to redirect old, crappy URLs to my new and improved
   ones. For example, mydomain.com/old-crappy-url.html to be redirected to mydomain.
   com/blog/snazzy-url-with-relevant-keywords/.
 * 3. This particular redirect plugin forces a mydomain.com/blog/ as the root of
   all originating URLs since Yahoo Hosting forced me to install WordPress in the/
   blog/ subdirectory.
 * I can’t redirect all the old crappy URLs that had mydomain.com as their parent
   directory. Therefore, I can’t use this plugin. It should allow people to totally
   customize the FROM url.

 * Hi SeerWS,
 * In order for this plugin to work WordPress needs to be initialized, hence why
   it requires URLS to be within WordPress. If WordPress is never initialized no
   redirects can happen.
 * Lots of folks install WordPress in subfolders, and simply change their site_url
   setting (Settings->Reading), to allow for **[http://www.mydomain.com/](http://www.mydomain.com/)**
   instead of **[http://www.mydomain.com/blog/](http://www.mydomain.com/blog/)**.

 * I recommend you:
 * 1. Change your site URL to use this plugin
    2. Use .htaccess, or PHP to perform
   your redirects outside of WordPress.

 * seerWS…this plugin is beautiful. I reconsider your ranking. It’s saved me so
   much time.

 * SeerWS, I think the author offers a good solution, but even if you don’t take
   the author up on it, I think 1/5 stars is pretty harsh for an awesome plugin.
   It works really well for a host of other needs.

 * Well, due to popular request I went to change the rating to 3 stars but it seems
   I’m not allowed to edit it… Maybe it’s just a mobile site limitation?
