 * Do I need to have my WordPress blog hosted in order to be seen by the public?
I am trying to hook my blog to my FB.

 * It needs to be hosted *somewhere*. That can men a commercial hosting company,
or a free host (not recommended in most circumstances), a SASS company, a publicy-
accessible server somewhere, or your own PC if you know how to set ip up and
maintain the proper security on it.
 * The vast majority of the times it’s worth the few $ to get the site set up with
a commercial host because things normalyl work pretty smoothly. Most other options
mean that you have do do a lot more work, and know a lot more about server administration.

 * So WordPress.com is free and WordPress.org costs a monthly hosting fee. Correct?

 * Just to be clear, WordPress.org doesn’t charge anything ever. There’s nothing
on this site to buy, and noting to pay for.
 * The software from WordPres.org is free, and after that it’s up to you as to what
costs are associated with running it. Most times that does mean you’ll pay for
a web hosting service, but you don’t have to if you want to use some existing
service or infrastructure that you already have in place. The freedom is yours
to do what you wish with the software.
