# Local host issues

 * Hi i’ve been coding wordpress themes for a while now, but i’ve been having issues
   with links in the site.
 * On my localhost i’m setting it all up then moving it over to the net once i’ve
   done it, but i keep having to mess about with the link urls..
 * On my local host i have to use ./news/ to get wordpress to echo [http://localhost/sitename/news/](http://localhost/sitename/news/)
 * When i upload to my webspace, those links wont work, i have to remove the fullstop
   from the link at the begining. So it becomes /news/
 * Can someone point me in the right direction here? I spent all day looking yesterday
   and i feel like giving up!! I don’t even know what term to search for.
 * I’m guessing it’s to do with my local host setup, i’m using:
 * Windows XP & EasyPHP, if someone can help me i’ be eternally grateful!

 * Yep – although I’m using exactly the same setup. Don’t use localhost. Set up 
   something like wpdev:8080. Works for me.
