# Local Install not validating database

 * HI There,
 * I’m trying to use Duplicator to set up a local environment for me to build out
   my website. I’ve added the plugin and downloaded both packages. I’m using MAMP
   as my local server. 
   When I head to localhost:8888/installer.php, the installer
   comes up as expected. On the database section, I change the action to create 
   new database, add in the host name “localhost”, give a database name and then
   add the user information in. I have double check the user name and password is
   correct.
 * When I go to submit, I receive the follow error message: 
   “Unable to connect 
   the user **[root]** to the host **[localhost]**.The server error response was:
   _No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it_‘”
   I’ve checked in firewall and nothing seems to be blocking the connection. I’m
   really not sure what I can do to fix this and look forward to your help!

 * You might need to provide the port number for your mysql (e.g. localhost:3309).
   Please look up the port number and add it to the host as shown.
