    Hi everyone,

I have EVENTUALLY made a whole new custom theme and got it fully working and very happy with it. (Very basic but my first one)

Everything worked fine locally but then I went to upload it to my server and I keep getting a 500 server error.

    Info:

    • Used BitNami Stack
    • I’ve put all files and folders from my ‘htdocs’ folder on the server
    • Tried moving around the root. Had it as a sub directory originally and now moved it to the root of the server and still no success
    • Most recent version of WP and all plugin up to date etc

Any help at all would be great.

    Thanks,

    Jake

Try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.

Unfortunately I don’t have access to that, I only have the FTP login details. It isn’t my server.

Could it be that the server is old and needs updating?

Unlikely. You need to access the server’s error logs.

Ok, I’ll try and get hold of it, thanks.

Ok, so I think I moved the wrong folder. I uploaded the whole ‘htdocs’ and I’ve found out it should just be everything insdie ‘wp-content’?

Well, I’ve done this now and now I just get a blank white screen…?

    Anyone seen this before?
