 * When I edit the header.php file through the WordPress Site Admin dashboard, I
don’t see the changes in the actual physical files in the wordpress/wp-content/
   themes/twenty directory.
 * Where are those changes being saved?
 * Furthermore, if I copy my own JPEG files to twentyten/images,
    they are not accessible
via the browser. I need to be able to add these images to the header.php file.

 * The files must be writable for the wordpress editor to save the changes.

 * Do you mean accessible by your web browser? Or by the wordpress built in theme
editor? If it’s the theme editor, I don’t think the editor is capable of opening/
exploring directories. You may only be able to edit files located in a theme
or plugin root directory. If it’s your web browser, you may have a file ownership
   or permissions issue.

 * The files are writable. The wordpress directory itself has permissions drwxr-
   xr-x
 * I even changed the file permission for header.php to -rw-rw-rw-
 * The image file that I copied is not showing up at URL [http://localhost/wordpress/wp-content/themes/twentyten/images/logo.png](http://localhost/wordpress/wp-content/themes/twentyten/images/logo.png)
 * Interestingly, the image DOES appear in my browser at [http://username-imac.home/~username/wordpress/wp-content/themes/twentyten/images/logo.png](http://username-imac.home/~username/wordpress/wp-content/themes/twentyten/images/logo.png)
 * ( This may relate to another post I entered regarding the website URL for web
   sharing on Mac OSX)
 * The fact is that the theme editor is showing the changes that I made, but it
is not actually writing those changes to the file at wp-content/themes/twentyten/
   header.php
