# Locking users or disabling users

 * Hi,
 * I am taking over the responsibility of wordpress sites. Thus I maintain these
   sites.
 * Finding no way to deactivate old accounts (I don’t have to delete them), I found
   a plugin that may do the work.
 * But it is old and not tested against current wordpress versions and the last 
   release is 8 years ago. [https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-locker/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-locker/)
 * Is there an alternative to disable users and probably adding some bruteforce 
   measures with a similar plugin?
