 * I have a membership option and I’m having issues with the pre-authentication
   login (not sure if that’s what it’s called)
    For me it asked me to enter a specified
   username and then calculate 2 numbers for the password and then it allows me
   to log in.
 * I don’t want this there for two reasons… One, members are too confused. They
   are trying to enter their details and I don’t want to stop every time someone
   joins and deal with email after email after email about why they can’t log in.
 * Second, I was away from my office and tried to log in as a customer and it wasn’t
   even showing the username and numbers for anyone to even attempt to get past
   this. If I didn’t know it by heart I wouldn’t have even been able to log into
   my own site.
 * I’ve looked in my plugins and don’t see anything. I went to my wordpress installation
   and don’t see a way to change that there either.
 * Please help me remove this. I have member that can’t use what they’ve paid for
   and it’s really frustrating.

 * Anyone?
    I’ve searched all over the place, in my control panel, etc. I can’t
   figure out where this is to remove it.
 * If I have to start refunding people I’m going to furious.
 * There’s got to be someone that knows where this is and what it’s called to help
   me disable it.
 * Please

 * Hi,
 * I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this issue. I did some looking around
   and found this thread:
 * [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-remove-the-captcha-login?replies=8](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-remove-the-captcha-login?replies=8)
 * While this does look like a temporary fix, what I find interesting is that the
   apparent solution had to do something with the hosting company. Is it possible
   to a bit more information such as a screenshot or link to your site?
 * Just for some additional information:
 * How long ago did this start happening?
 * Have there been any recent changes that you can think of?
 * Have you contact your host?
 * Has there been an increase spike in traffic to your site?
 * I’m just trying to get a better overall view of what’s going on.
 * I hope the link to the post proves helpful. I’ve request email notifications
   regarding follow up posts to this thread. I’d like to see if I can help you get
   this sorted out.
 * Take care for now!

 * Hi again,
 * Take a look at this post:

 * I think that might be beneficial to review as well.

 * That’s interesting. I don’t have Jetpack installed although I used to. I’m wondering
   if I add it back and then disable that if it will fix the issue.
 * I’ll try this… nothing else is working
 * Thank you

 * Another thing to consider as well is based on the last post it could have something
   to do with your IP address. Ill go out on a limb and also say it could have something
   to do with your browser’s cache as well.
 * If you’re using the Google Chrome browser try hitting CTRL+SHIFT+N on your keyboard.
   Or, if you’re using a MAC try CMD+SHIFT+N this will bring up an Incognito window.
   This window is sort of like a sandbox where your browser doesn’t remember anything
   about other browsing sessions. Go into that window and try to login again and
   see if the captcha still shows up.
 * I’m thinking to test from a “clean” slate to see where that goes.

 * This does not sound like default behavior of WP core.
 * This feature probably is added by one of your plugins or your theme.
 * So, try:
 * – Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or
   browser caches. Also, any op cache or content network cache, as well as Cloudflare,
   clear those caches.
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see
   if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works,
   re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).–
   [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients). Sometimes, an apparently inactive
   plugin can still cause problems. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the
   mu-plugins folder (if you have created such folder). The easiest way is to rename
   that folder to mu-plugins-old. – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty
   Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific
   issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
