# login cookie error (multisite)

 * When trying to log into the site, I get an error saying cookies need to be enabled
   when in fact, they already are (tried with multiple broswers).
 * I trawled through the forum looking for a solution and didn’t find any solutions
   for a multisite install. Lots of reports of this error, but apparently no fix
   in version 4.
 * Okay so I added a new site with it’s own domain, and now cannot log into the 
   new site due to this error. Firefox [show cookies dialog] says there are no cookies
   for the new domain.

 * disabling all the plugins has not helped.
 * So I think it is fairly safe to assume that when adding new editors to the site,
   they will run into the same issue?

 * I’ve disabled all the web browser extensions and followed the instructions here,
   but it has made no difference.

 * As suggested on another thread, I also temporarily commented out the “elseif (
   isset( $_POST[‘testcookie’] )” clause in wp-login.php but it won’t log in (even
   though the error message went away).
 * I’m using the 2014 theme with WP4.0.

 * I Installed the firefox extension “Cookies Manager+” and manually created a cookie
   for that domain “testcookie ” and set its value to “1”. Still no dice.

 * I am facing the save problem. It just show the same page without any error on
   my multi site. Trying to find a fix for it soon 🙂

 * Are you configured for sub-domains or sub-directories? Are you using the domain
   mapping plugin? So you can log into any of your previous sites, but not the new
   site? Is there something different about the new site, for example if the domain
   is different than your other sites.
