I insert my usual username and password and all I get is the same page, as I just refreshed it. * I’ve read of many similar cases, but all the troubleshooting infos don’t seem to work: – cleared cache and cookies – changed theme directory name via FTP – changed plugins directory name via FTP * All I got when changing theme and plugins directories names was my website not showing at all. * It might be helpful to say that I recently updated WP version to 4.0.1 (or 4.1, can’t remember) BUT since then I’ve succesfully logged in and managed content on my website as usual several times. * Please help me, it’s a band website and a new album is coming in a few weeks. It’s pretty vital to get the website on again. Thank you. When you don’t have access to your admin area, use [FTP or SFTP ](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients)or whatever file management application your host provides. Navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder by adding“- old” to the end of the folder name via [FTP or SFTP ](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever file management application your host provides. Alternately, you can remove other themes except the default theme. That will force your site to use it. * make sure when you switch to the default theme all plugins are off. * If no dice, then try **MANUAL** updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress. zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old copies of files & folder on your server before uploading the new ones. Then it writes me the password( I concealed) and then when trying to login again I receive the same installation page. * I really don’t know what to do.
