I am looking for a very simple WordPress theme. Every theme that I’ve looked at thus far seems to be much more than I need… and complicated. All I am looking for is a fixed menu in the left sidebar where each menu link opens the corresponding page article in the right pane. Very similar to what I have now that is not WordPress. The problem with my current site is I have to update every page when I update the menu. It’s an informational website only… not a blog and there is zero advertisement.

If you can recommend a simple theme that can accomplish what I am looking for it would be appreciated. Thanks!

I currently have WP installed on a test subdomain until I can figure it out.

    Sonnie

  • Take a look at the GeneratePress theme. Also, if you are worried about a theme being complicated it might actually be related to the default Gutenberg editor, I’d suggest using the old Classic Editor by installing this plugin.

    Hopefully this helps. Happy blogging.

I ended up uninstalling WordPress… couldn’t find a template like I wanted, and everything looked more complicated than I was willing to endure. Ended up using the default template for Joomla and it was easy to get started. Menu is on the right instead of the left, but that’s not a big deal. It’s almost stupid proof enough for me.

None the less… thanks for the info.
