# Loop post query filter

 * Hey guys
 * So ive been trying to come up with a filter to seperate my posts, I know how 
   to do a basic loop but ive got no idea how to place a filter before the loop 
   could someone please help with that?
 * My site is based on gaming news and i have each post with a “platform” meta for
   ps xbox pc etc. I want to ultimately achieve something with 4 images above the
   loop one for each platform and when you click on them it filters the loop below
   by each platform.

 * What you asking bout is basic theme design. Find one that has 4 widget fields
   at the top of the homepage and fill those with your HTML of an image with an 
   href.
 * The href’s can be to individual categories, tags, custom post types, etc.

 * Im sorry? im not looking for a theme design. Im asking for a post loop with filters
   such as ascending/descending, by category etc..
 * And im not double posting. Last time i got an unanswered post and tried to bump
   it, a mod asked me to create a new post.

 * I assumed, since the Loop is very well documented here, that you were just looking
   for a theme that had specific functionality (which actually is still true, since
   most good themes do this for you), so I did the research for you and here is
