 * Hi all
 * I have a WordPress multi-site installation. I have lost the ability to edit the
site since the latest update. I’ve tried installing Heath check and run it in
safe mode but the drop-down boxes to choose which plugins to enable or themes
   to select won’t work.
 * I’ve switched off the classic editor and just get a white page when trying to
edit a page in blocks. Switching back to classic editor brings the page up and
you can edit in text view only but have lost the quick tool bar and can’t click
   to Visual Builder.
 * The arrows within the Widget area won’t work to edit that either so also lost
   the editing of widgets.
 * I’ve tried to install a new theme via Appearance menu, but no themes are showing.
 * I’ve disabled Litespeed cache and got it working but only if I use an Incognito
window to look at the dashboard so making me think its a caching issue.
 * Has anyone else experienced the same issues?

 * Some of these symptoms sound like Javascript that isn’t running. The thing with
scripts is that if one fails, all execution stops (even core scripts with no
   bugs).
WP 5.5 removed the jquery-migrate script as part of the process of updating
to the newer version of jQuery. If any of your theme or plugins use the outdated
functions that the migrate script supplied, the script will die and cause other
   scripts to not run.
 * The temporary solution is to use the [Enable Jquery Migrate](https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/)
plugin, so that your site works while you find a fix. WP 5.6 will contain the
newer version of jQuery, and it will have its own version of jquery-migrate,
so this temporary solution won’t work with that (although they are trying to
figure out what to do with people using it). The old functions are **really**
old, and should have been fixed long ago.
If this solves your problem, be sure
to note which plugin or theme it tells you is using the old function, so you
can replace it or ask to have it updated.
