# Lost FTP Credentials

 * Hi,
 * I can’t even login on wordpress. A white page appears right away.
    To call a 
   long story short, I’m sure that it’s a plugin issue. However, as I don’t have
   any access to my dashboard, I can’t deactivate the wrong plugins.
 * I’ve contacted an IT company who told me that they need FTP access so that they
   can move out the plugin and the white screen.
 * However, I don’t have access to my FTP credentials, as I can’t login on my wordpress
   admin page. Would there be a way to get them back? Wouldn’t the wordpress administration
   have kept a list of these for all the wordpress users for instance?

 * WordPress.org has no connection to your hosting service, all WordPress.org does
   is provide the “WordPress” software and support for it.

 * Yes, someone set up the site for us. I did contact the person a few days ago 
   but no response yet.
 * If I can’t provide the FTP credentials to IT, do you think that the only solution
   would be to use the domain name with another wordpress application? Would we 
   also need at some point FTP credentials or anything like it for this?

 * What’s your WordPress installation’s URL? I have a feeling you may be in the 
   wrong forum. 😉
 * When you can’t get in via FTP then you should contact the host provider (assuming
   you are their customer on record) and ask them for support.

 * Keep trying until you do get an answer. That’s a paid host and you have to have
   access to the web hosts filesystem to resolve that issue.
 * When you do get them tell them that you need to get access to your `error_log`
   file to find where the problem is. If that’s not available once you do get access
   to the filesystem (via FTP or whatever they can provide you with) then locate
   and rename `wp-content/plugins` to `wp-content/plugins-OLD`.
 * Don’t delete anything just rename it. If you are having a plugin issue then you
   should be able to get in after that.
