I dragged my Media widget into the sidebar and it disappeared!
can’t seem to find it

Where did you get this widget? Twenty thirteen does not have one AFAIK.

That’s strange I had one in the group on the left. Maybe it was just a title with no content.
Anyway I found a media widget, “A simple Media Widget’ installed it and it works fine.
