 * After a number of problems with my laptop I find I have lost all WordPress functionality
to maintain and update my website. The website is listed under my favourites
as the administrator and previously took me to a page that provided the full
range of WordPress functionality but now I only see the home web page as if I
am a normal viewer and not the administrator. Would it be advisable to download
WordPress again direct or go through my host that is Tsohost? Any other advice
would be appreciated. **[Moderated: email redacted]**

 * Sorry about that. That’s the problem with worried beginners desperate for advice.

 * I think you’re misunderstanding things here. WordPress is both built and supported
for free by volunteers who do this on their free time, so we don’t have any phone
   support here.
 * We don’t actually run your site or have any form of control over it in any way.
So *you* must resolve your problem, because nobody here can do anything to your
   site, in any way whatsoever.
 * Hence, posting contact info is not allowed in forums.
 * You need to resolve this issue with your developer.

 * Right. I am totally new to all this and ‘developed’ or built my own website two
years ago using WordPress which I downloaded and worked from there. As it has
disappeared on my laptop I thought it logical to get it back but wanted to be
cautious about it. As it is not working would it be more reasonable to talk to
my host who after all at the moment is hosting a site I cannot update.
