# macJournal with WordPress

 * Okay… I’ve been looking for a blogging tool to post to my WordPress blog. I found
   ECTO and macJournal to work.
    Ecto: Latest version of ecto seems to work okay.
   Categories are correctly downloaded. macJournal: latest version seems to work
   just fine (I use the Blogger option, not the LiveJournal option) and the Titles
   seem to post as well. Only drawback with macJournal, currently… there’s no Category
   support, no trackback or any way to post to Draft. It posts everyting under “
   General” category.

    amazing news… just downloaded macJournal but i can’t seem to log in…
   i filled in the url: [http://www.energylab.de/wordpress/](http://www.energylab.de/wordpress/)
   username: xxxxx password: xxxxx blog id: 1 “wordpress” is the folder where my
   installation resides. i’ve tryed several adresses, several id’s… either it refuses
   to connect immediately or it keeps sending and sending and sending and sending….
   for minutes – without any result… what adress did u use? please help

 * don’t know…
    still using 1.2 and recently downloaded mac.journal so i was just
   asking cause tryed several combinations of settings and nothing seemed to work….

 * hi! login problem solved!
    just add “xmlrpc.php” to your blog adress mine now
   looks like: [http://www.energylab.de/wordpress/xmlrpc.php](http://www.energylab.de/wordpress/xmlrpc.php)
   just fill in your username in line 2 and the password in line 3, leave line 4
   blank hit the send button and off you go! cheers roman/berlin/germany

 * I’m using MacJournal 4.0.4 and found that it works very well with WordPress if
   you configure the “type” to be MoveableType (MacJournal actually sets that as
   the default when it inspects the blog site).
 * Using the MoveableType “type”, you can set categories for the post.
