    Greetings,

I have certain issues with these add-ons.

The export plugin does not allow me to export any PDF format either the mPDF or the TCPDF, the TCPDF is exported in gibberish and the mPDF is not working at all due to permissions, I did set the files permissions to 755 but still not working, the cvs export is working though.

The mail chimp plugin is not working at all, I tested by adding a new booking directly through the back-end and my list in mail chimp was not updated, also in the meeting of mail chimp when you choose your list, you then choose which data to export. There are 2 issues with the plugin, the plugin understands only NAME instead of First Name, Last Name separately, and it has no EMAIL data from the plugins end to match to EMAIL data to mail chimp. I believe that is why it fails to register because in mail chimp the EMAIL data are necessary.

Lastly, another annoyance I have with the plugin is that when the customer chooses the time for the booking all times are shown and the times a place is closed are simply prayed out, can they be removed completely?

  • Hi George,

Since you’ve purchased some of my commercial addons, you can always reach out to me via the support form on my website. I’ll go ahead and answer here, but sometimes the moderators don’t like support questions for commercial addons happening in the free repository. So if the thread gets closed just get in touch via the form (also, I tend to follow up queries there a bit quicker).

Regarding the PDF export, this is usually related to server compatibility problems. The TCPDF has fewer requirements, which is why I include it as a backup, but generating PDFs is always going to fail on some servers.

You should have my email address from a another support query. If you want to create an admin login and send the details there, I’ll be happy to take a look for you to see if I spot anything off. It’s possible the problem is related to language encodings, though I worked hard to support as many languages as possible with TCPDF (that’s why the plugin is so large).

I suspect, though, that you’ll need to get in touch with your web hosts. They should be able to help you find your server’s error logs, which are likely recording problems during the render process. That would at least give us a clue as to what’s failing.

Regarding the MailChimp plugin, it does not auto-subscribe bookings made in the backend. It adds an opt-in field to the booking form on the frontend. You should see it once the plugin is activated and you can customize a few settings under Bookings > Settings > MailChimp.

The reason it doesn’t do anything in the backend is that the user has not had an opportunity to “opt in” to the list. Subscribing them without their knowledge is against the law in many US and EU countries. And MailChimp closely monitors your unsubscribe rates and may disable your account if it gets reports that users are being subscribed without their consent.

The EMAIL data is automatically hooked up — that’s why you don’t have to set it manually. And the booking form only includes a single field for name, so there’s no way to reliably distinguish between a first name and a last name.

The MailChimp addon doesn’t yet recognize new fields added by the Custom Fields addon, though. I plan on addressing that in a future update.

I think we handled your last question over email, but feel free to follow up there if you have any more questions.
