 * When I retrieve a message as sent by the MailChimp email service, Postie reformats
all the HTML so that all the imagery is gone. The content appears in roughly
the same locations, but unformatted. Is there a combination of settings that
would allow the message to appear as it does in my email inbox?

 * Is the “Preferred Text Type” setting plain or html?
 * Formatting gets tricky since your theme has lots of control over what is displayed.
Postie itself does very little to the message.

 * It’s set to “HTML”. The formatting is all done at MailChimp. I can send you an
   example if you like.

 * yes please send a sample to [test@postieplugin.com](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/mailchimp-format/test@postieplugin.com?output_format=md).
Please don’t just forward a message, send it directly from MailChimp.
 * Let me know here when you’ve sent it.

 * Just sent it to both of us and have gotten my copy. (I sent it twice as MailChimp
was slow in getting it out the door…sorry)

 * I think I see what is happening. You need to turn on inline css in MailChimp,
otherwise all the style information is in the header and posts can’t have their
   own header.
