 * Hey guys, I need help this is driving me nuts.
 * After using the WordPress Automatic Upgrade Plugin, I finally upgraded from WP
   2.6 to 2.7.1. but now my home page won’t load.
 * [http://funnyusbkeys.com/](http://funnyusbkeys.com/)
 * It loads the index.html page from our web server as you can see above. Worst
   is that if I try: [http://funnyusbkeys.com/index.php](http://funnyusbkeys.com/index.php)
   it will load the index.html page and redirect to the root domain [http://funnyusbkeys.com/](http://funnyusbkeys.com/)
 * However, the website in other directories are working fine: [http://funnyusbkeys.com/2009/03/conficker-armegeddon-on-april-1-2009/](http://funnyusbkeys.com/2009/03/conficker-armegeddon-on-april-1-2009/)
 * When I changed URL settings in the admin section, to say: [http://funnyusbkeys.com/wordpress/](http://funnyusbkeys.com/wordpress/)
   then the home page works fine. However, if I change it back to the main domain
   it won’t work.
 * I tried doing a 301 redirect in the .htaccess file from
    [http://funnyusbkeys.com/index.html](http://funnyusbkeys.com/index.html)
   to [http://funnyusbkeys.com/index.php](http://funnyusbkeys.com/index.php) but
   that is not fixing the problem.
 * I don’t understand what is the problem. It’s like as if the index.php file is
   either not created in the main root or it is redirected to index.html automatically.
 * aaaargh

 * you can’t have index.html and index.php in same directory and expect both to
   work
    index.html has precedence over index.php. you need to decide which you
   want and do away with the other

 * I tried deleting index.html but somehow the problem is persisting 🙁
 * Even without the index.html file, it still loads the same page… I don’t know
   why or what page it is loading…

 * Have you cleared your cache? Because I’m not seeing this *at all*. I see your
   blog. Loads up immediately.

 * I know Google has a cache but it is possible to have that on a server as well?
 * Anywhoo, thanks guys for taking the time to help me. It is very appreciated.

 * it’s your browser caching
    to clear browser cache when needed do a hard refresh
   ctrl + F5 on keyboard at same time

 * Hi, I have a similar problem, the index.php doesn’t load.
 * I have my blog here.. [http://russiangirlsint.com/blog/](http://russiangirlsint.com/blog/).

   [http://russiangirlsint.com/blog/index.php](http://russiangirlsint.com/blog/index.php)
   shows up [http://russiangirlsint.com/index.html](http://russiangirlsint.com/index.html)!.
 * the blog’s admin works fine, [http://russiangirlsint.com/wp-admin/index.php](http://russiangirlsint.com/wp-admin/index.php)!!
 * Please anyone let me know what could be wrong…

 * Same problem here. If I delete index.html it still doesn’t display index.php,
   instead it tries to open something called ‘~file”
 * If I explicity reference index.php in the url, it loads index.html instead!
 * Ctrl+F5 makes no impact

 * ctrl + F5 is for IE. Hold down the shift key + ctrl + R for Firefox (or hold
   down the shift key and click the refresh icon).
