 * Hi there,
   I am having issues with connecting my wordpress website from make.com
   with wordpress.Deactivating other plugins makes the diagnosis that wordfence
   is preventing to make the connection.Can I whitelist the rest-api connection
   from make.com

 * Hi [@youlikeitmobilus](https://wordpress.org/support/users/youlikeitmobilus/),
   thanks for reaching out.
 * Wordfence doesn’t try to block the WordPress REST API by default as our other
   services like Wordfence Central require connection in the same way. However,
   there could be a false-positive occurring, which would be logged in the [Live Traffic](https://www.wordfence.com/help/tools/live-traffic/)
   page.
 * If there is a block on make.com’s IP there, check the reason after expanding
   the entry with the eye icon in the corner. You may find a specific firewall rule,
   or Wordfence setting stated here. The reason is shown in red text.
 * You may be able to manually allowlist it for the future by using the “**ADD PARAM
   TO FIREWALL ALLOWLIST**” button on the Live Traffic page. You can also read about
   [Learning Mode](https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/) just
   in case having that enabled for a short time would help if you see it come up
   again.
 * Thanks,
   Peter.

 * Hi [@wfpeter](https://wordpress.org/support/users/wfpeter/)
   Thank you for your
   reply.The problem is , there is no blokking registered in the list for the connection
   action,Even on the hosting in the logfiles of the hostingprovider there is nothing
   to see even in learningmode.So I don’t know what to deblok or add to firewall
   allowlist.

 * Hi [@youlikeitmobilus](https://wordpress.org/support/users/youlikeitmobilus/),
 * If there’s nothing in Live Traffic _and_ trying to get make.com to connect when
   Learning Mode is enabled doesn’t work either, it’s highly unlikely the block
   is coming from Wordfence. With all of your other plugins active and Wordfence
   temporarily deactivated, does the connection go through?
 * Are there any response codes from your Make account that show that a server firewall
   or other service like Cloudflare is stopping it? You might see a 500, or 503,
   403 etc.
 * Thanks again,
   Peter.

 * Hi [@youlikeitmobilus](https://wordpress.org/support/users/youlikeitmobilus/),
 * Wordfence only returns branded blocking pages of 403 and 503, so it’s interesting
   that with the plugin enabled, you’re getting a plain “401 Unauthorized” server
   response. It sounds like an issue communicating back to your site, but we can
   try to check that.
 * You can visit the **Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics** page and send the output
   to us at **wftest @ wordfence . com**. Click on **“Send Report by Email”**. Please**
   add your forum username** where indicated and _**respond here after you have
   sent it**._

 * Hi [@youlikeitmobilus](https://wordpress.org/support/users/youlikeitmobilus/),
 * I don’t see a diagnostic sent yesterday (or recently) with your forum username
   attached. It’d be great if you could provide a .txt copy instead and attach it
   to an email for **wftest @ wordfence . com**. The .txt diagnostic can be exported
   from the **Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics** page.
 * **Please include your forum username in the email’s subject line and tell us
   here once you’ve sent it.**
 * Thanks,
   Peter.

 * Hi [@youlikeitmobilus](https://wordpress.org/support/users/youlikeitmobilus/),
   thanks for sending that over.
 * I might’ve expected to see a problem with “Connecting back to this site”, or
   IP detection picking up a server IP but neither section points to a misconfiguration
   or anything struggling to communicate. I am suspicious of the 401 being a server
   response to make.com because Wordfence doesn’t respond like that.
 * When I query `https://yoursite.com/wp-json/wordfence/v1` in a web browser _or_
   via cURL in the command line to replicate your issue, I receive the contents
   without anything stopping me. With no clear blocks in Wordfence, Learning Mode
   making no difference, and not being blocked externally I’m wondering if there’s
   a problem with how Make is trying to connect, if they are being blocked specifically
   by a server firewall, or another plugin (such as page redirection) could be redirecting
   their request to a page that isn’t at the expected URL.
 * Many thanks,
   Peter.

 * Hi Peter [@wfpeter](https://wordpress.org/support/users/wfpeter/),
 * Thank you for having a look at the logfiles.
   Yes I understand your reaction but
   if the wordfence plugin has nothing to do with it I am wondering why I can make
   the connection when I disable the wordfence plugin?

 * Hi [@youlikeitmobilus](https://wordpress.org/support/users/youlikeitmobilus/),
 * Conflicts with another plugin and Wordfence sometimes make it look like the cause.
   Disabling Wordfence will resolve the conflict in a scenario like that but will
   return when Wordfence is enabled again.
 * Can you make the connection with **all** of your other plugins disabled, and
   with a default theme like Twenty Twenty-Five? It’ll be effectively like a new
   install with just the Wordfence plugin running. If it works, re-enable your other
   plugins one-by-one until you see the blocking behavior again.
 * Let us know what you find out,
   Peter.
