# Making WordPress .css stylesheet writable?

 * Hi there,
 * I’m trying to edit a WordPress theme’s CSS. But it keeps telling me: _You need
   to make this file writable before you can save your changes. See the Codex for
   more information_. I’ve already enabled more than enough permission authority
   and this message still keeps coming up.
 * How do I make a WordPress theme’s stylesheet writable?

 * I log in through FTP and chmod to 666
    or go through CPanel – get to the file–
   click change permissions – and enter 666

 * Thanks for the quick reply dragonsjaw. On which part of your website are you 
   doing that? The Public HTML folder?

 * if your install is at the root of the server, it would be:
    public_html/wp-content/
   themes/nameofyourtheme/your theme.css
 * if your install is in another folder,then add that after public_html/
    the rest
   would be the same.
