manage featured image

hello
I have enabled the featured image in all posts so that it appears as a graphic reference in the list of posts (query loop), however I would like it not to also appear within, beginning, of the post itself. I have also searched within the template but there is no indication of this. Is it possible to find a solution? Thank you very much
