I wonder if implementing it with a Stripe-hosted checkout form would work or at least be easier? For example, the SA Hosted Checkout for WooCommerce plugin bypasses the WooCommerce checkout completely and redirects the user to a Stripe Checkout form (which makes for a pretty smooth user experience, actually). I understand that this would probably require the development of a separate plugin, but I’d love to see your approach to it. Your Stripe and PayPal plugins are fantastic.
