 * I’ve gone through all of the support posts and have seen a few regarding the
default day that that is displayed when the visitor launches the meetings list
page. Please forgive me if my inquiry here has already been covered. We just
went live with the plugin last week and observed (at first) that the default
day appears to be “today”, i.e. based on either a server-side or client-side
date/time query. I haven’t had a chance to look at the code yet but is this a
correct assumption? If so, has anyone else encountered server-side caching issues
with GoDaddy Managed WordPress? Where I am going with this is that the previous
day always appears when visiting the meeting list for the first time on a given
day. Please note that this holds true even after a complete browser and DNS cache
flush on the client-side device. Our previous, home-grown meetings application
was unable to overcome a similar issue. I had written a PHP/MySQL script to display“
upcoming meetings” based on the PHP current date/time and it never worked properly
in the morning until server-side cache was manually flushed in the WordPress
admin console. I had a few discussions with GoDaddy tech support on this and
basically got a polite pitch to upgrade to managed VPS solution. I got vague
assurances that we could control server-side caching but nothing definitive.
Anyway, sorry about the long post. Just wanted to see if the author had some
insights for us or if others on this platform might weigh in. Thanks!

 * Hey Tim,
 * I’m afraid there’s nothing I can think of to help with that aside from turning
the caching off, or seeing if there’s a way to exclude, for example, the /meetings
   route.
 * The plugin itself recently introduced its own file-based caching, so it really
shouldn’t be necessary for the server to provide its own.

 * Thanks for the quick response. Yeah, problem is you can’t even turn the caching
off or control it in any fashion in GoDaddy’s Managed WordPress. They’ve even
banned cache control plugins. I understand the arguments against not leveraging
caching for websites, but for pages with truly dynamic content these limitations
are frustrating. And this certainly has nothing to do with the plugin, as it
is performing beautifully. Just a hosting limitation and nothing more, I guess.
I probably should have posted this as a non-support topic.

 * Hm, that sucks! Caching in and of itself is not a bad thing, but it does need
   to be refreshed.
 * Does your site use the upcoming meetings widget or having the upcoming meetings
   view?
 * I think if the cache were updated every hour then we might be ok.
 * Is there a setting you can set to have it do that?
 * Or is there a way we can ask/trick GoDaddy into refreshing?
 * I don’t know if this will work but a comment at the bottom of this page ([https://cantonbecker.com/etcetera/2014/how-to-disable-wordpress-caching-at-godaddy/](https://cantonbecker.com/etcetera/2014/how-to-disable-wordpress-caching-at-godaddy/))
suggests that if you visit your site with a URL like [http://www.url.com/?GD_NONCE](http://www.url.com/?GD_NONCE)
   then that might refresh it.
 * If that works, then maybe using a site like uptimerobot.com to check your site
on an automated hourly schedule would work?
