# Map Not Showing Using Shortcode

 * Here is my page: [https://christiandiscipleshipintl.org/global-growth-points/](https://christiandiscipleshipintl.org/global-growth-points/)
 * My theme is Divi and I’m using a child theme with a few modifications. With Divi
   you can add the Google API direction into the Divi settings, which I have done,
   but I have also added the API directly into the Maps Builder settings as well.
   I tried eliminating one of them at a time too with no success.
 * I got my API the conventional way (I think), [https://console.developers.google.com](https://console.developers.google.com).
   I’ve done this one other sites too without issue. But here is my screenshot:

 * Thanks Greg. Two questions:
 * 1) Is that a “Google Maps Javascript API Key”?
    2) Have you tried by removing
   the HTTP referrer domain?
 * Let me know.

 * 1. I believe so. This is what it says is enabled with that API: [http://d.pr/i/T6Cd](http://d.pr/i/T6Cd)
 * 2) Yes, I tried removing the domain completely.

 * FWIW, these are the directions and links I’ve used: [https://churchthemes.com/guides/user/plugins/church-theme-content/#google-maps-api-key](https://churchthemes.com/guides/user/plugins/church-theme-content/#google-maps-api-key)

 * I believe this is an issue with the API Key since I cannot duplicate this problem
   at all, and new API keys that I create work as expected. So here’s a couple tips:
 * 1) I just updated our Docs on creating a Maps API key. Please review that in
   detail:
    [https://wordimpress.com/documentation/maps-builder-pro/creating-maps-api-key/](https://wordimpress.com/documentation/maps-builder-pro/creating-maps-api-key/)
 * 2) Definitely (for now) only use our settings for the Maps API key, not the Divi
   settings
 * 3) You might want to create new credentials based on our docs that only uses
   the default APIs and the “Google Maps Javascript API” and NOT the Static one.
 * 4) If you do ALL of that and it’s still not working, please disable all other
   plugins. If it appears correctly at that time, re-active each plugin one by one
   until you have the problem again. Then let me know which plugin caused the conflict.
   We have a workaround script for plugin conflicts like that.
 * Let me know how that goes. Thanks!

 * Thanks for your attention to this Matt, if we get this thing resolved you’ll
   certainly have a new pro customer in me!
 * So, I did as you suggested above, step by step and had no success. Once I disabled
   plugins and it still didn’t work I flipped over to the 2016 theme and the map
   does show up under the 2016 theme…so looks like a compatibility issue with the
   theme. So what do you think?

 * We collaborate with the Divi folks a bit. I’ll see if I can duplicate that problem
   and get back to you with a work around. Just let me know a couple details:
 * 1) What version of Divi are you on?
    2) How are you using our plugin, with the
   shortcode throughout the site? Or using our single map pages? Or a widget?
 * Thanks!

 * Thanks again for the help.
 * 1) I believe it is the latest, it is 2.7.8.
 * 2) I am using the shortcode inside of text module. I also tried the shortcode
   inside of a the code module as well.
 * This is the single map page: [https://christiandiscipleshipintl.org/google_maps/global-growth-points/](https://christiandiscipleshipintl.org/google_maps/global-growth-points/),
   still with same result.

 * I just tested with the latest version of Divi (2.7.8) and had no troubles adding
   the Maps Builder shortcode into a Text widget and it displaying exactly as expected
   on the front-end.
 * So, here’s a summary of our progress so far:
 * 1) You’ve reviewed your API key several times, and you are implementing it only
   within the Maps Builder settings, not anywhere else.
    2) You’ve noticed that
   it still doesn’t work with all other plugins disabled 3) You’ve noticed that
   it DOES work with Twenty Sixteen, but not with your theme 4) I verified that
   it works as expected with the latest version of Divi.
 * You mentioned that you have a custom child theme. Try switching to Divi instead
   of your child theme. If it works as expected at that point, then it’s definitely
   your child theme. I often go line-by-line through the functions.php file and
   comment out actions or functions to test that.
 * Let me know how that goes.

 * Hey Matt…thanks for the summary and update here.
 * So your summary is right on. I activated just Divi, which is version 2.7.8 and
   tried my page and it still doesn’t show. Weird right?
 * So I flipped back over to Twentysixteen and it does show up…to me this means
   the API is good.
 * So I also installed a fresh install of Divi…and that didn’t help either. If you
   feel like it helpful to login I can send you some credentials.

 * Greg,
 * We try to avoid logging in to users sites if we can avoid it. We’re about to
   re-start some serious development on this plugin. I’d love to dig into your issue
   a bit more and maybe send you a beta of the new fixes. Please reach out to us
   via our contact form here and let’s see what we can do:

 * FYI: There seems to be a conflict with the “WP Canvas – Shortcodes” plugin now.

 * OK, so Wordimpress sent me the following fix. This fix seems specific to Divi.
   You can track the fix at [https://github.com/WordImpress/Google-Maps-Builder/issues/206](https://github.com/WordImpress/Google-Maps-Builder/issues/206).

 * Hey Matt,
 * I read through your above comments and tested all the options. I found out the
   “
   RT-Theme 19 | Extensions Plugin” is showing a conflict with your plugin.

 * Hi @itsphetty can you be more specific about the conflict? What happens exactly
   when they are both activated? Can I access that plugin somewhere publicly to
   test the problem?

 * Hi Matt,
 * The maps displays as expected in single map pages as well as with the shortcode
   inside a text block, so long as “RT Extension Plugin” is not activated.
 * When they are both activated,the map disappears from the page altogether and
   sometimes I also get a 404 Page not found error. Ive tested them several times.
 * “RT Extension Plugin” is used to display Four custom post types (portfolio, products,
   team and testimonials) in my site, and is shipped with the RT Theme 19.
